Cooling a building in summer using winter cold

Energy is stored in aquifers 20 to 300 m below the surface. Warm water is pumped up, heat is extracted and cold water is re-infiltrated. A cold groundwater zone develops around the infiltration well, which can be used for cooling in the summer.

Delivering financial returns from kilometers under the ground

In The Hague, 4,000 new homes will soon enjoy renewable geothermal heating after a large-scale renovation and construction project.
