Geothermal energy module, Province of Zeeland, the Netherlands We developed a GIS module for geothermal energy, commissioned by the Province of Zeeland in the Netherlands (see figure).
This provides Zeeland with a tool that it can use to carry out a quick scan at any construction site, in order to obtain information about the financial feasibility and environmental advantages of applying geothermal energy techniques. This tool will act as a stimulus by removing the hurdles that stand in the way of early adopters of geothermal energy. The first version of the module was launched at the Zeeland ATES day on 14 May 2009. It was received with great enthusiasm by those present (local authorities, housing corporations, consultants and government representatives). |
